In the ruins of North America lies PANEM a shining Capital surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capital is harsh and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in The Hunger Games a fight to the death on live TV.
This book was a real adventure and I enjoyed every bit of it. Two more books in this series I will wait until just before the movies come out to read each of them.
All of that being said, I enjoyed this book very much. The instant I started I wanted to know more about the characters and the world they lived in. It all takes place in the futuristic world where some have much and others have nothing or next to nothing. Those who have control the others by something called the Hunger Games.
The Hunger Games are established as a way to divide and concur. A fight to the death. To keep people in control. One girl and one boy fight back in their own small way. What if anything, will happen to them because of it is left to be told in the second book.
I can't wait to see the movie!
