I really enjoyed reading this book. Getting back into the CLASSICS. Jane Austen is a master at writing a love story and she did not disappoint me with this book.
What would you do if you were a young woman who wanted to marry a man that your trusted advisers did not see as a good fit for you? He was not established, had grand ideas of what his life could be but as yet was just starting out. Trying to "make his mark " as it were. Would you listen to your well meaning family and put off the engagement?
Well, that is what Anne Elliot did and lived to regret it!
But, if love is true and strong it can stand the test of time and come back to you richer and deeper than it was when you thought you lost it.
Just as this story has stood the test of time.
"You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope. Tell me not that I am too late, that such precious feelings are gone for ever. I offer myself to you again with a heart even more your own, than when you almost broke it eight years and a half ago."
